Simtek (UK)’s BodyLogic WireLess™control systems have been developed over the past 12 years for use by race and road car manufacturers and boast some of the most advanced functionality available anywhere on the market. These systems have been serving our customers reliably, behind the scenes, for over a decade but now, at last, we have set them free and have made them available to all, in the form of our WireLess™ range, bringing advanced functionality and smart OEM features to the kit and low volume manufacturer, custom builder and restorer as well as advanced motorsports clients. Simtek (UK) have developed the range into several parts designed to satisfy any, and all the requirements of our customers.
WireLess™
System Design
The purpose of the WireLess™ system is to allow the reduction in wiring and the simplification of switch, pots and sensor connections in an automotive environment. The system’s functionality is particularly suited but not limited to switch panels, steering wheel systems and remote displays.
The WireLess™ system is in two parts:
1. The remote wireless transmitter/transceiver module
2. The wired base station, receiving the signals from the transmitter/transceiver module
The transmitter/transceiver module has bi-directional communications with the base station and is designed to transmit digital-switch, analogue and data information to the base station, whilst being able to receive information back, to guarantee the signal was received and accepted. This greatly improves reliability and reduces missed triggers to a point where the driver does not know if the systems are wired or wireless.
Additionally, this bi-directional communication allows information to be transmitted in the other direction, leading to useful additional functions, including the ability to display warnings on the steering wheel or switch panel.
The WireLess™ system can be configured as one to one, many to one or many to many.
WireLess™ models currently available:
- Transmitter (Transceiver) – 3 models
- RF-1_TTM-14 x Digital inputs
- RF-2_TTM-14 x Digital inputs & 6 x Analogue inputs
- RF-3_TTM-14 x Digital inputs, 6 x Analogue inputs & 8 x Low-side drive outputs, also this unit has 1 x CAN data channel.
- Receiver (Transceiver Base Station) – 2 Models
- RF-1_BSrt-1 x CAN data channel, 4 x (3Amp) Low-side drive outputs & 2 x “Pass-through” (2 Amp) Relay channels
- RF-2_BSrt-1 x CAN data channel, 8 x Digital input channels, 4 x Analogue input channels, 16 x “Pass-through” relay channels (each 15A capable), 4 x (3 Amp) Low-side drive outputs & 2 x “Pass-through” (2 Amp) Relay channels.
- Intergrade Receiver (WireLess control Intergrade into LOGIC BCU range) – 2 models
- RF-3_IRrt – Controls any selected LOGIC BCU function
- RF-4_IRrt – Controls any selected LOGIC BCU function, 4 x (3 Amp) Low-side drive outputs & 2 x “Pass-through” (2 Amp) Relay channels.
